Camel

Camel is a British progressive rock band that was formed in 1971. The band was founded by guitarist Andrew Latimer and drummer Andy Ward, and they were later joined by bassist Doug Ferguson and keyboardist Peter Bardens. Camel's music is often characterized by intricate instrumental passages, soaring guitar solos, and atmospheric soundscapes.

Camel's early albums, including their 1973 debut album "Camel" and 1974's "Mirage," are considered to be among the most influential and innovative in the progressive rock genre. These albums feature complex compositions that blend elements of jazz, classical music, and rock.

In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Camel enjoyed commercial success with albums like "The Snow Goose," "Moonmadness," and "Rain Dances." These albums featured a more accessible sound and often incorporated elements of world music and pop.

Camel has undergone several lineup changes over the years, with Latimer being the only constant member. Despite this, the band has continued to release new albums and tour, and they remain a popular and respected band within the progressive rock community.
