The Blues Magoos

The Blues Magoos were an American rock band formed in the mid-1960s. They were known for their psychedelic rock sound and their hit song "(We Ain't Got) Nothin' Yet," which reached the top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1967.

The band formed in the Bronx, New York, in 1964, originally under the name "The Trenchcoats." They changed their name to The Bloos Magoos (with two o's) in 1965 and then changed it again to The Blues Magoos (with two o's) in 1966. The band's lineup consisted of Ralph Scala (vocals, organ), Emil "Peppy" Thielhelm (bass), Ron Gilbert (guitar), Mike Esposito (guitar), and Geoff Daking (drums).

Their debut album, "Psychedelic Lollipop," was released in 1966 and is considered one of the first albums to feature a fully psychedelic sound. The album included the hit single "(We Ain't Got) Nothin' Yet," which became their biggest commercial success.

The band released several more albums throughout the late 1960s, including "Electric Comic Book" and "Basic Blues Magoos," but they never achieved the same level of commercial success as their debut album. They disbanded in 1970 but reunited briefly in the 1990s for a few live performances.

Today, The Blues Magoos are recognized as an influential band in the psychedelic rock genre and their music continues to be appreciated by fans of classic rock.
