Golden Earring

Golden Earring is a Dutch rock band that was formed in The Hague in 1961. The band's original lineup consisted of George Kooymans (guitar, vocals), Rinus Gerritsen (bass guitar, keyboards), Fred van der Hilst (drums), and Hans van Herwerden (guitar). Over the years, the band's lineup has changed several times, with Kooymans and Gerritsen being the only constant members.

Golden Earring is best known for their 1973 hit single "Radar Love", which reached the top ten in several countries, including the United States. The band has released over 20 studio albums and has had numerous other hit singles in Europe, including "Twilight Zone", "When the Lady Smiles", and "Going to the Run".

In addition to their commercial success, Golden Earring is also known for their energetic live performances, which often feature extended jams and improvisation. The band has toured extensively throughout Europe and North America, and they continue to perform to this day.

Golden Earring has been inducted into the Dutch Music Hall of Fame and has received numerous other accolades for their contributions to rock music. Despite their success, the band has always maintained a low profile and has shunned the excesses of the rock and roll lifestyle.
