The Joneses

The Joneses were a hard rock band from Boston, rooted in other local bands of the day, and featuring local guitar legend Billy Loosigian (Boom Boom Band), frontman Dave Finnerty (The Jackals), bassist Brad Hallen (Pastiche), and drummer John Sands.

The group released an EP of their song, "Everything Changes", on their own Jonesin label inthe summer of 1988. The EP sold well enough that Atlantic Records signed the group in 1989 and released their major-label debut, "Hard", in 1990. Unfortunately, their brand of bluesy bar band rock didn't fare well, right at the inception of hair metal and grunge rock, and the album never took off.

"Hard" was reviewed in Stereo Review magazine in 1990, and described as, "If you like Bad Company", you'll probably like The Joneses. They weren't trying to sound like Bad Company, but the statement is true, nonetheless. If you can get your hands on this CD, do so.
