McGuinness Flint

McGuinness Flint was a British folk-rock band that was active in the early 1970s. The band was formed in 1970 by Tom McGuinness and Hughie Flint, both of whom had previously been members of the British blues-rock band, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers.

The band's self-titled debut album, "McGuinness Flint," was released in 1970 and contained the hit single "When I'm Dead and Gone," which reached No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart. The song also became a hit in the US, reaching No. 47 on the Billboard Hot 100.

McGuinness Flint's music was a blend of folk, rock, and country influences, with acoustic guitars, harmonicas, and fiddles featuring prominently in their sound. The band's lineup included a number of talented musicians, including keyboardist and vocalist Benny Gallagher, who later went on to form the successful duo Gallagher and Lyle.

Despite their early success, McGuinness Flint was not able to sustain their commercial momentum, and the band disbanded in 1975. However, their music has remained popular with fans of 1970s folk-rock, and their songs have been covered by a number of other artists over the years.
