Seatrain

Seatrain was an American rock band that was active from 1969 to 1973. The band was formed by former members of the Blues Project. The original lineup of the band consisted of Andy Kulberg on bass guitar and flute, Richard Greene on violin, Peter Rowan on guitar and vocals, Lloyd Baskin on keyboards, and Roy Blumenfeld on drums.

The band's music was a unique fusion of rock, folk, jazz, and classical music, with a focus on intricate arrangements and instrumental virtuosity. Their sound was characterized by the use of the violin as a lead instrument, which gave their music a distinctive and somewhat melancholy quality.

Seatrain released their self-titled debut album in 1970, which was well-received by critics but did not achieve commercial success. They followed up with two more albums, "Seatrain 2" in 1971 and "Marblehead Messenger" in 1972, both of which were similarly well-received but failed to break through to a wider audience.

Despite their lack of commercial success, Seatrain's music has remained popular among fans of 1970s rock and folk music. Their unique blend of styles and instrumental prowess continue to make their music stand out, and the band's influence can be heard in the work of many contemporary artists.
