Tommy James and the Shondells were a rock band that formed in Niles, Michigan in the early 1960s. At the height of their popularity, the band consisted of Tommy James on vocals and guitar, Ronnie Rosman on keyboards, Mike Vale on bass, and Pete Lucia on drums. Over the course of their career, they released a number of hit songs and were known for their energetic live performances. Some of the band's biggest hits include "Hanky Panky," which they recorded in 1964 and became a regional hit in the Midwest, "Mony Mony," "I Think We're Alone Now," "Crimson and Clover," and "Crystal Blue Persuasion." These songs helped to establish Tommy James and the Shondells as one of the most popular bands of the 1960s. In addition to their success on the charts, the band was also known for their innovative use of studio technology. They were among the first rock bands to use the studio as an instrument, experimenting with different recording techniques to create unique and memorable sounds. Tommy James and the Shondells continued to perform and record together throughout the 1960s, but disbanded in the early 1970s. Tommy James went on to have a successful solo career, while the other members of the band pursued other musical projects. The band reunited briefly in the late 2000s and early 2010s to perform at a number of concerts and music festivals. The Shondells I (1964 - 1965)
