Foghat

Foghat is a British-American rock band that formed in London in 1971. The original lineup consisted of Dave Peverett on guitar and vocals, Tony Stevens on bass, Rod Price on guitar, and Roger Earl on drums. Foghat's sound is a mix of blues, boogie rock, and hard rock, and their energetic live performances made them a popular concert draw in the 1970s.

The band's first album, "Foghat," was released in 1972 and included the hit song "I Just Want to Make Love to You," which reached number 83 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Foghat's second album, "Energized," was released in 1974 and included the hit single "Drivin' Wheel," which reached number 34 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Foghat's most successful album was "Foghat Live," which was released in 1977 and featured their popular cover of Willie Dixon's "I Just Want to Make Love to You," as well as the hit songs "Fool for the City" and "Slow Ride." "Foghat Live" reached number 10 on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified double platinum in the US.

Throughout the 1970s, Foghat continued to release albums and tour extensively, building a loyal fanbase in the US and Europe. In the 1980s, the band's popularity waned as musical tastes shifted, but they continued to tour and record new music. Dave Peverett died in 2000, but the band continues to perform with other members.

Some of Foghat's other notable songs include "Stone Blue," "Third Time Lucky (First Time I Was a Fool)," and "Honey Hush." Foghat's legacy as a hard-working and entertaining live act has earned them a place in the pantheon of classic rock bands.
